A visual case study on shapes

In the early 1960s, Italian designer Bruno Munari published his visual studies on shapes: Circle, Square, and a decade later, Triangle. Drawing on examples from ancient Greece and Egypt, as well as the works of Le Corbusier, Alvar Aalto, and Buckminster Fuller, Munari assigned unique meanings to each shape: the circle is associated with the divine, the square represents security and enclosure, and the triangle serves as a key connecting form for designers. A prominent figure in 20th-century design, Munari made significant contributions to painting, sculpture, design, and photography, in addition to being a teacher throughout his seventy-year career.
