Part collectible, part small sculpture, Heavenly Horse comes from Bertil Vallien’s Zoo Series for Kosta Boda—a playful, design-forward body of work that helped define the mood of Swedish art glass in the 1970s.
Vallien is known for giving glass a sense of spirit and symbolism (objects that feel a little mythical, a little archetypal), and these horses are a perfect example: simplified lines that read as timeless rather than vintage.
