Shuro tawashi are traditional cleaning brushes made from the bark of the windmill palm tree, which is noted for its natural durability, elasticity, and water resistance. This eco-friendly scrubber is domestically produced using native Japanese trees rather than synthetic materials or foreign imports. Because tawashi are made from soft and flexible plant fibers, they are unlikely to scratch or damage surfaces. Try your Takada Shuro Scrub Brush when washing dishes or ceramics, cleaning vegetables, spot cleaning clothes, or doing some personal exfoliation.
About Takada
Takada Kozo Shoten was established in 1948 as a manufacturer of products derived from the windmill palm tree - a tall, evergreen palm that has been an important staple of the Kishu region in Wakayama since the Edo period. Third-generation sales manager Daisuke Takada sought to revive its traditional use in brushes, so he found a craftsman who understood the old methods. After 7 years, the company began selling shuro tawashi made from high-quality palm bark grown through organic farming methods.
