With its spiraling organic form, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York set a new architectural precedent and became one of the world’s most recognizable buildings.
Designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1959, the Guggenheim challenged the limits of contemporary building technology and redefined modern museum architecture.
